Davide Lantermoz lives and works between Berlin and the Italian Dolomites, where he decided to move with his family to a small village built in the 1960s in the woods. The village was designed with a unique blend of functional architecture and Alpine charm, conceived by two leading Italian architects, Edoardo Gellner and Carlo Scarpa.
The peacefulness and refinement of the architectural design of this place helped him avoid easy urban conformity and focus on its own unique path.
Splitting his time between his studio in Berlin and a studio in his tree-lined home in the mountains, his research focuses on the visual rhythm offered by materials in their raw state or in their sculptural and pictorial use, in the pursuit of minimal activating elements, probing materials through the process, to no longer reconstruct reality through images, but to bring new potential realities directly into his work.
