Davide Lantermoz lives and works between Berlin and the Italian Dolomites, where he chose to settle with his family in a small village immersed in the forest. Built in the 1960s, the village stands as a singular example of modern Alpine architecture, conceived by Edoardo Gellner and Carlo Scarpa, whose vision brought together functional rigor and a profound sensitivity to the surrounding landscape.

This environment, defined by silence and architectural clarity, has become an essential counterpart to Lantermoz's practice, offering the conditions for an artistic path that resists the conventions of urban production and remains rooted in an independent way of seeing.

Working between his Berlin studio and a second studio in the mountains, his research unfolds through a sustained dialogue with matter. Raw materials, as well as their sculptural and pictorial transformations, are approached as fields of latent rhythm and possibility. Through a process of reduction and attentive observation, DL searches for minimal activating gestures capable of revealing the inherent agency of materials. Rather than representing reality through predetermined images, his work allows alternative realities to emerge from the material itself, where form is discovered rather than imposed.
